Happy Holidays – 2023

Whichever holiday you celebrate, send the warmest thoughts and best wishes for a beautiful occasion. It is time to see friends and family, eat delicious foods, give thanks, worship, play Santa for the kids, and let the good times roll. The Holiday Season is a time to be a blessing to someone. Tell people you think about them, speak kind words, and give your time. These blessings are a fantastic way to spread cheer. May this joyous season fill your home with love, your heart with hope, and our world with peace. Families will decorate their homes, watch their favorite Christmas movies, cozy up with a blanket and hot cocoa, and escape reality.

If you are working through the holidays, remember, even if you don’t hear it enough, the work you do to support the people who matter and keep our traveling public safe, is very much appreciated. Keeping those priorities front and center can help turn a “pity party” into a sense of appreciation. Workplace holiday activities can be an incredibly lonely time of year. While everyone’s circumstances are different, having the opportunity to connect with a chosen family, like friends and coworkers, can make the holidays feel less isolating and more meaningful.

As Union leaders, we often get engulfed in our many duties and responsibilities. We must remember to enjoy the moments that bring happiness and hope. Holidays are not a time nor a season, but a state of mind and only what you make of them. Set your mind to make the absolute best of your circumstances.

Season’s Greetings and Happy New Year,
